This is a magical location in Prospect Park
which, at the time, was located two city blocks
from my apartment in Park Slope, Brooklyn.
Almost every painting I did in the area
was a keeper!

These two scenes are located next to each other in nature. I was thrilled when the paintings were purchased
as a pair and hung together.

Blooming Cherry Tree, Brooklyn Botanic Gardens, 20" x 24", SOLD
I worked on this painting a long time, during which the tree in the
center of this scene was struck by lightning during a thunder
storm. The wood was subsequently chopped up and stacked
neatly in the foreground. I took it as a sign to finish the painting
and move on.
